Sunday - My Birthday

The game did not go how I wanted it to.  Not my best birthday present.  We lost late in the game to the Steelers in Pittsburgh, devastating.  It was clear that during the game I did not get the ball enough.  I must say again that when T.O. gets the ball, good things happen.  My first catch in the game was a touchdown...

We had too many turnovers, we can't have that and win.  Way too many turnovers.  We got some turnovers going our way and we could not take advantage of it.

During the press conference I teared up a little when they were ripping on my quarterback, T-Roms.  He is my quarterback, I don't like that. That's my quarterback man...

It was a tough press conference, one of the hardest of my career.

To try and make my birthday a little better, I had a nice post-game meal.  A nice five-cheese lasagna is what I ask for every birthday.  Witten's mom made it for me and it was great.  The women has some skills.

After that we hit the flight home.  It was a long flight from Pennsylvania to Dallas.  No one was talking and I had a food hangover from the lasagna.

When I get home, Ma is gonna have a big cake ready for me to devour.  It is scarey to think that I am closer to forty then to thirty.  I need to take a nap and try and get over this lose, I'll catch all you fans tomorrow.

Saturday

Today we went through the final walkthrough for the game against the Steelers.  One thing we know for sure, is that it is extremely cold on the west coast now.  I have been wearing several layers all today and their is a 4:15 p.m. kickoff.  The sun will be going down and it will be awfully cold.  Luckily, were talkin about yours truly and the cold does not make me drop the ball.  It will probably just help me shake and bake a few wide receivers.

There was a lot of great football on today.  USC had a huge win against UCLA but who didn't expect that?  It is probably too little too late for the trojans to make it to the championship game.  Oklahoma had a huge win and definitely will be making it to the championship.  You also have to assume that Florida will make it because of their dominating wins lately.

Tomorrow(Sunday) is my thirty fifth birthday and will be a great one after I score two touchdowns and get a win against the Steelers.  I have heard that Troy Polamulu has a birthday hit waiting for me.  I am pretty excited for that love tap.

After the game, the boys and I are going to hit up some clubs and have a good time.  Who knows, we may even stay in Pittsburgh and celebrate on their home territory.  Time to continue preparing for the game tomorrow.

Friday - Day of Travel

This Sunday we are playing at Hines Field in Pittsburgh, which means that today is the day to travel.  To tell you the truth, I actually like having to travel in a private jet.  I'm probably going to have a nice dinner before and then get some shut eye while I am up in the sky.  The reclining chair I always sit in is so comfy and has two great cup holders.

Once I get to Pittsburgh I am going to have to try the Roethlisberger.  For those of you that do not know about it, it is a ridiculous sub dedicated to the Steeler's quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, or as we like to say Worthlisberger.  Check out a pic:

It is loaded with meat, cheese, scrambled eggs, french fries and some other things on a Portugese roll.  Should be a very exciting sandwich.

Thursday

If you missed the Victoria's Secret fashion show, your silly. Look at this:

That is what I watched for an hour and it was one hell of an hour.

After practice today, T-Roms and I went to get a bite to eat.  We went to a Five Guys and absolutely stuffed our faces with peanuts, burgers, jalapenos and fries.  They just opened the Five Guys and it is delicious; I had never been to one before.  For those who have not been to one, it is like what a McDonald's was before it went national.

When you order your double patty cheeseburger, you get to choose any toppings you want and they are free.  This shouldn't be a surprise but I got lettuce, tomato, muchos jalapenos(yo hablo espanol), onions, ketchup and mustard.  Then while you wait you get to eat peanuts and drop them on the ground. Brilliant....

T-Roms faked me out when he asked for a veggie burger.  I almost lost it, hes such a little pretty boy.  He ended up getting two double patty burgers.  That is what I expect from my quarterback.

Wednesday - Middle of the Week

Its the middle of the week and the middle of our preperation for our game against the Steelers.

Last night I was able to watch a good amount of the Lakers game against the Washington Wizards.  It was interesting to see the Wizards wearing their 1962 throwback jerseys.  They said 'Zephyrs' on them because the team that moved to Washington in 1962 was named The Zephyrs.  It is not surprising they had to change the name.

I love any time I get to watch Kobe Bryant play basketball.  The man is just a magician when it comes to playing the game.  I noticed that he, like I, loves to get the ball.  That is what seperates us two from most of the others, we love the ball.

Kobe ended up scoring only 23 points, 11 being in the second half.  The Wizards who have the worst record in the NBA, almost came back from a huge defecit to win.  They got within two points, but just could not put the game away.  The whole game I was just expecting the Wizards to not be able and come back all the way for the win.

If you have nothing to watch tonight, even if you do, I highly recommend you watch atleast some of the Victoria's Secret special.  It is an hour of half naked girls and should be a great time.

Tuesday - Practice

Today we began working through the gameplan we were told about a few days ago.  Everything is flowing smoothly and our offense looks pretty lethal.  It will be interesting to see how well Patrick Crayton does, he is expected to see the ball a lot.  We are also going to be using a lot of screens because of how much the Pittsburgh Steelers love to rush the passer.  We can't have T-Roms getting banged up, so we will have to get the ball out of his hands quickly.

Coach Wade Phillips and I went out to dinner after practice.  The food was phenomenal and was even better because I did not pay for it.  I had a nice Surf 'n' Turf, while Coach had a 32 oz. steak!!  Somehow that little man found a way to throw it down too!

My mom called me after the dinner and was telling me how my sister is having trouble with her boyfriend of the past few years.  His name is Josh Hamilton, the center fielder for the Texas Rangers.  He is a pretty good guy who has been through a lot and I am curious to find out what happened.  Tomorrow I'll give her a call and will let you all know, should be exciting.

Monday - Thoughts on Sunday

Despite not having the showstoppin' T.O. out there, it was a pretty exciting Sunday full of football.  I was real surprised to see the Green Bay Packers fall to Carolina.  It looks like Steve Smith is back doin' what he does best and that is just going for the ball.  Aaron Rodgers had a good game and is looking alright, but he is in no way T-Roms.

On another note, there was a big division game between the Redskins and the NY Giants.  The Giants as most expected came away with the win and will stay at the top of the division.  I think everyone expected them to do well this season, but I do not like hearing that they are at the top.  Now that we have T-Roms back, we should not have much trouble in toppling the Super Bowl champions.

Of course during the game all the announcers, commentators and guests could talk about was the Plaxico Burress incident.  Can I just say that the guy is a complete idiot.  He has a job that most everyone dreams of, playing football, winning the Super Bowl and making millions of dollars.  What more could one ask?  Plaxico feels that even while he is injured, he has to keep his street credit up and pack some heat while he rolls to a club.  Hopefully he and many other of the players, will learn from this incident.

Back to football.  I was surprised to see Tampa Bay take down the Saints.  Drew Brees has looked like the real deal, but Jeff Garcia got the W this week.  The NFC South has been very impressive which no one expected.  This should cause for a pretty good mix up in the NFC playoffs this year.

Tomorrow, I am going in to start working for our game against the Steelers, so make sure you stop in.

Sunday - More Chillin'

So last night was absolutely ridiculous, which you can expect if you are going out with Pacman.  We went out to the restraunt and everything was fine and then we hit up the Crazy Horse.  It was a pretty tight club, but the girls were not all over me like they should be.  Luckily, the bartenders understood how great I am and had drinks ready for me as soon as I came up to the bar.  There was this one really cute girl, Stephanie.  If you see this call me up baby.

Back to Pacman.  He was talking and dancing with this one babe and a guy came up to say that it was his girlfriend.  Pacman was not going to have any of it and why should he, he IS in the NFL.

A lot of words were thrown around, then Pacman swung and completely dropped the guy.  His friend came up to try and get things to stop, but Pacman was going to have no part of that.  He took him out with a right hook and the guy crumbled immediately.

Today is Sunday though which means there will be a lot of great football to watch (despite me not being on the field).  I am hoping a few different teams take losses to help the Cowboys out, but we will see.  Tomorrow I'll let all my fans out there know how I feel all the teams played.

Saturday - The Walkthrough

Today is Saturday, which means that it is time for the walkthrough on how we are going to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.  One of the main focuses on offense was to get me the ball often.  This is a great idea and a lot of big plays should happen because of it.  T-Roms was pretty into the gameplan to which should make things run smoothly.

Adam "Pacman" Jones came over earlier today and says "what up america".  Later tonight we are having some girls come over and we are going to enjoy a little happy hour.  After that, we will probably hit up the nicest restraunt in the area for some grub and more drinks.  I am pretty excited for a large steak.

Pacman knows of a pretty bumpin' bar downtown that we are going to check out.  It better be pretty badass because the past few bars I have been to, I haven't been treated like a god by the bartenders and bounces.  Ridiculous.

On that note, Pacman and I are about to get ready for the hunnies coming over.  I'll let everyone in America know tomorrow how it went.

Friday - A Day of Rest

The best part about playing on a Thursday, besides winning, is having a few more days to rest until next Sunday's game.  My body is pretty beat up from getting the ball so many times and making so many plays happen, but thats the only way I would want it.  The rest should be pretty crucial.

Another good reason about being able to rest today is because of all that damn apple pie.  With how full my belly is still, there is no way that I could go get hit playing football.  So today, my stomach and my muscles are thanking me for the rest.

A lot of people probably woke up early today to go shopping and save a few extra dollars.  Luckily I just signed a six year, thirty-thousand dollar contract so I don't need to worry about saving money.  I hate standing in lines anyway, so it is good that I do not have to go out shopping today.

My main issue to take care of is my girl issues.  My current girl thinks that I don't care for her just because I won't say things to make her feel that way.  I think that is ridiculous, she should know how I feel without me having to say that.  Today I'll just have to rest up and think about how to work on that problem.

If you haven't noticed, on the NFL website there is a vote for who makes the Pro Bowl.  Make sure you vote for your's truly, T.O., and get me into my sixth Pro Bowl.  Also on the NFL website is a poll on the best football celebration.  I know I have many great ones, such as the popcorn celebration, the dunk and the cheerleader celebration, but make sure you let the world know which is your favorite.

Thursday Post-Game

Another Thanksgiving, another victory, and finally, I got the ball.  My quarterback, T-Roms, saw me down field for several big plays, which I followed up with some show stopping celebrations.  I can not wait to see myself on ESPN snaggin' the pig skin out of the air and doing the dirty bird afterwards.  Man its nice to be a Cowboy...

On another note, Mama's Thanksgiving dinner was absolutely amazing.  Jason Witten and Patrick Crayton came over for her great hospitality and ridiculously good grub.  Crayton angered me though when he took forever to pass the gravy!  I had nice warm turkey and stuffing, waiting to get smoothered in gravy, and the man would not pass it!  Once he did, I scarfed down all of Ma's food within a couple of minutes.  I think us guys had four plates of food, not including all of the pumpkin pie and blueberry kobler we went through.

After the best feast of the year, we all had to get horizontal and watch some television.  Luckily on channel 352 there was a Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dines marathon that we watched for hours.  I thought I was full after the big meal but seeing Guy Fieri sample all of that great food I was ready to hit the leftovers.

Crayton, Witten and I had a competition on who could eat the most turkey with cranberry sauce.  Witten can sure throw down!  The man scarfed down 3/4 of a lbs of turkey AFTER our meal.  Thats why he is not scared to catch a ball down the middle.

Finally we were all done with eating and had to fall asleep.  What a great holiday, great food to go along with a few great highlight catches.
